I currently work in the role of an SEN
Teaching Assistant, which I have been doing so for the past 7 years, gaining knowledge and experience from working in a variety of settings such as Early Years Foundation Stage, through to Key Stage 2.
Delivering intervention work such as Social Skills to small groups
within the same year groups, including communication, friendships and
resolving conflict skills. Also supporting children with challenging behavior
through Lego Therapy groups, which work alongside the Social Skills groups.
I have very strong working relationships with both pupils and colleagues. I have a positive mind set and strive
to bring out the best in all pupils regardless of their own difficulties and
aspirations.
An example of my own creativity is when I'm
regularly asked to decorate a classroom or corridor, with an educationally
based theme.
I am flexible and readily adapt to change,
whether it is an unscheduled responsibility such as looking after an individual
child, or organising and delivering lessons at short notice in the absence of
the primary teacher.
I am fully committed to delivering the
highest standards and quality of education, especially to children with
challenging needs.
I am
very proactive in my own children's education; spending real, quality time,
together, working through homework projects, visiting interesting places that
help with their learning and understanding of the bigger world out there.
I
have also spent time as a parent School Governor before actually working in
school.
