My name is Miss Natalie MacCuish and i am 22 years old. My current status at the moment is a full time student studying HNC Counselling in addictions which along with studying this course i also have been training in being a student counsellor. After graduation from high school studies achieving strong grades i pursued an interest in NC Social care at Glasgow Clyde college where i particularly enjoyed modules related to mental health well-being and practical application of counselling therapy which ultimately let me undertaking the HNC course in counselling for addictive behaviours. Throughout the course i have enhanced my own personal development, enabling my skills of having and showing empathy for individuals, being congruent, and having an unconditional positive regard for individuals and situation's. I have learned and put into practice using active listening which is very important in communicating with individuals in day to day society. The important skills which i have also enhanced in is my reliable and great time management, being reliable, and have also strengthened my techniques in communicating with clients to access and respond to their individual needs.

I enhanced my interests in the mental well being and having an addiction from substance and alcohol misuse and my modules in Loss,Grief and bereavement where i studied the theoretical sides of using understanding skills during a therapy session with a client, Substance misuse module where i enabled skills in working as various roles being a client, counsellor and observer and for the year worked with students in my class helping each other turn our weaknesses into strengths, Personal centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy and Humanistic therapy which was my practical personal development using my knowledge and understanding (both personal and profession ) approaches on gaining a concious understanding and judgement of why individuals react and behave in specific ways.
I had an interest in the health and well-being of individuals and how i could care for those who need some help in managing their daily routines, this is where i had a background knowledge from studying Higher health and social care at high school which interested me into applying for the NC social care. I studied grades at higher levels and strongly achieved my grades and the full course, the modules which i had studied where
child protection; sociology; psychology; mental health; dementia; skills for work ( used my knowledge and understanding techniques and placed it all into practice by volunteering in a day care centre for older adults, values and principles, Communication in health care.
The following year i went back as i was not sure what career i wanted to follow at that point as i was just in my teens but however this enhanced more skills and techniques in Sociology, Pshycology, History.
During my time at Langside college i had studied three highers which were Sociology, Pshycology Philosophy where i had achieved my A levels.

I left high school achieving a range of Strong GCSE grades in English/Communication, Mathematics, Travel andTourism, Hospitality,
Physical Education, Modern languages; french, Information Systems, Social vocational skills, Introduction to Early years childcare and Higher health and social care.
I Enjoy to socialise with friends and family which i feel that this is a great strength of mines by being able to socialise with close individuals in my life but also enjoy to meet new people, reading true life novels or learning a knew subject which gives me knowledge in enabling new skills and techniques, i am a very curious individual and always have a great enjoyment in learning something new, i love listening to music and going to music festivals when ever i can and this is where i meet with people for the first time, i enjoy researching various ways which can help you with any stress related or mental illnesses and how its useful to know safe and healthy coping techniques which is why i enjoy going to the steam room and sauna to cleanse and detox my mind and body which enhances me to have a positive attitude.
I have advanced skills in communicating and understanding individuals which seek some extra assistance and guidance in addressing their issues and enabling them to gain confidence into being able to make decisions independently. I have had three years of training and practice in this category of profession.
