I qualified as a social worker in 2011. Since then i have worked for an independent fostering agency as a supervising social worker, managing a complex case-load. During which time I also completed my Practice Educator award. I enjoy delivering training and I have developed the 3 day Journey to Foster course for prospective foster carers. I have demonstrated that I am able to work within a multi-agency setting and I enjoy the variety my current post requires, however I feel that I now want to widen my experience within the social work field and I want to use my existing skills in another area of social work.
Managing a case-load, supervising and supporting foster carers, completing initial visits to prospective foster carers, delivering training, completing form F assessments, working anti-social hours, maintaining accurate records, report writing, participating in the on call rota.
Working shifts in a range of hostels between Wrexham and Llandudno, This included hostels for 16-25 year olds, 18+, and mother and baby. All of the residents were vulnerable and homeless and my role was to assist then towards moving onto independent living.

I held a number of roles: Volunteer Adviser; Special Educational Needs Named Person - assisting parents with the statementing process; Surestart Project Worker - working with other professionals to ensure that children aged 0-4 had the best possible start in life, my role was to provide specialist debt and benefit advice to families; Temporary Bureau Manager - supervising the advice session and managing volunteers; Better Advice Better Health Worker - running drop in sessions in GP surgeries, specialist advice in debt and benefit, representation at tribunal and county court, general advice on all other matters; Legal Services Commission Debt CAseworker - providing specialist debt advice, representation at county court, completing court papers and bankruptcy petitions, negotiation with third parties; Advice Session Supervisor/Bureau Guidance Tutor - Supervising the advice session, managing volunteers, training volunteer advisers.

I enjoy swimming, walking. listening to music and reading novels. I also like to try new things and I recently went on a stunt driving experience.
