I consider myself to be a committed, hard working and organised individual. I take pride in both my work and personal activities. I believe I have excellent customer service skills and the ability to understand aswell as listen. I am a dedicated team player but I am also very competent when working alone.
This is my own company that I started last year. The main reason for doing this was because my Grandmother unfortunately fractured her hip in May 2013. I registered as her carer until she was able to care for herself. Then in Nov 2013 she suffered a heart attack. This has left me as her carer for a lot longer than anticipated.
She is now back on her feet and well enough to look after herself.
Because I was unable to find a job that allowed me to care for my Grandmother and still work I decided to set up on my own. This at least allowed me to earn a little extra cash and still care for her. I basically sub-contracted for a short while and just carry out your basic rodent & insect treatments.
During my time at BHB I really excelled and found myself progressing into a very competent technician. Within thirteen months of employment I had gained one promotion and several performance related pay rises. I was promoted to "Troubleshooter".
This involved working through a portfolio of heavily infested supermarket sites throughout the UK, a cinema chain and one of the most advanced abattoirs in the UK. My role was to implement a riddance program for each individual site. This included supervising a team of proofing technicians and a de-merchandisers and also carry out a full site survey prior to any work.
Most of the riddance programs were carried out in the south of the UK. This area has very well known unique behavioural characteristics with rodents. A "outside of the box" attitude was vital in working towards a successful treatment. We would implement unique and innovative methods to combat the infestations along with strategically planned trapping treatments.
I have also been trained in bird proofing installation and carried out numerous culls within city centres (with police supervision), supermarkets and food production premises. I am competent in the use of firearms and with bird work.
My main duties at BHB included:

THis was my first position in pest control. I was quickly shown the basics of pest control and was given a portfolio of various business and public houses. The work was mainly routine inspections and was a good starting point for learning about hygiene and proofing recommendations. The skills I gained were:
I spend the majority of my spare time fishing. I do watch a lot of football but being a Liverpool supporter it can be quite depressing. My girlfriend and I do enjoy travelling to random places for the weekend if we get the chance.
