I have a good knowledge and excellent communication skills to report to area Regional management teams and support the lower business managers in the interpretation, analysing and categorising of information related to the field effectiveness. With good interpersonal and problem solving skills to inproving productivity issues, and overall performance of the field operation teams. My main goal is to assist in reaching and maintaining the teams targets and budgets. I have good competent knowledge in producing and presenting reports from systems data source. From these systems I can produce reports on Word -Excel- PowerPoint-Access-VBA to produce detailed reports for distribution onto sharepoint or direct. I have a good understanding of what's required and produce detailed but simplified reports weekly and monthly to assist in the budgets set for the year.
My main Interest is my Classic Jaguar car and restoration.
I have a family and spending time with my two boys and wife is a pleasure.
My eldest son is a starting DJ, so being an unpaid rode is another extra interest that gives me time with my family and to support where required.
Since taking on the responsibility of Performance Technician I have had some good results for the area's team. With the knowledge that I have generated through accessing various BT systems it came apparent that the process did not alter all of the individuals details to there new group ref, this was analysed and documented and put to finance to transfer cost for stores. Tool items which were also booked to the wrong class off works to the value of £23,000 this was also put to finance to transfer costs. Also I cost cut fleet spend by eliminating unwanted units.
I have had several achievements from producing a route cause finance report when Openreach started and analysing expenditure to say the area has minimal miss spend today. My weekly and monthly cost reports has made my role an extremely busy, productive period and has been taken as far as it is possible to capture any spend or performance across the teams. The reports are Excel with formatting, formulas & hyperlink etc, word and PowerPoint are also used for presentation. Access has been used but tend to use excel for simplicity.
The Field Performance Technician role that I have been doing since Network work build and now Openreach has become a crucial role in identify and inproving the performance and every day running within the area managers organisation.
Negotiating and calculating products for bulk estimates with PTO's and planners are just one of the tasks that I do weekly.
The weekly tasks that I undertake to help manage the smooth structured performance for the area organisation are to run reports on the Integrity performance platform, tracing and transforming data for non billable reports and also all relevant quality issues from E/skills to defect information.
But the main analysing and supervising is involved with the now monthly financial cost report. I have developed this to cover the GM, 5 area Som's and all 64 Om's.
This involves constant communication and giving direction and advice to the GM's manager's organisation's.
The reports that I produce are simplified to give the ability to filter and analyse the information relevant on word or Excel format.
This has now been recognised as a national process and have trained several possible new FPT's to take the report further to other areas and give route cause for spend.
The accreditation program was to bring the quality of workmanship in the field up to a quality level by assessing every engineer within my area to achieve a licence. With the skill that I had and have learnt I can train, assess & audit on everything from internal wiring, SD2, D/Side, E/Side, Cabling light, heavy and fibre and also the use of Cat & Genny. This was all completed to a very tight schedule that was recorded onto BT NASA and a report with spreadsheet devised and collated to capture our performance. Communication with every manager and control was crucial to reach the targets set.
Since starting with D/Side Support I have been involved in the rejuvenation of the pressure network in London Northeast and the East Anglia areas. I have assisted in the fault location of cable breakdowns and subsequent renewals. This included using the modular jointing technique on breakdowns of E and D side cables, I was also on the 24-hour call-out list.
I had recently been involved in the Cambridge and Brentwood CAN DO Projects. In the last three years I had been heavily involved with the ACCM projects which involved full programs to be written for installation and monitoring on the relevant exchanges which was then passed onto pressure control to take ownership.
Within the years on Network support I took over a cabling unit and was used on 24-hr call with very good results in getting the cables in. The response of the group on any breakdown was recognised on various occasions and the goals were achieved in a very good quality way. As I gained more experience on the group I was given more responsibility as acting T1.
I was involved in the development and planning of some large projects and on the M11 link road project, which was a major- roadwork scheme.
I started with BT as a T2B in January 1988 and was based at Fleet and Faraday, which covered some major companies that required dedicated fitters. The companies that I was dedicated to were Unilevers and Hewlett Packard's.
Within the time I was based in the city I had full systems training from Septara's to TSX 50's which then meant a larger area to work to.
With the experience that I gained I took an acting ST's role doing job allocator and dealing with customer requirements based at Riverside Hse.
Born 23/08/1966 in Rush Green, Dagenham
I started my education at Sutton's Infant and junior School, I then moved up to Sanders Drapers Secondary School. When I left school I went to Havering technical college to study mechanical engineering and got my City & Guilds which led to my first job at an engineering firm. My main interest is motor racing of all kinds and also classic & vintage car restoration, which I have done and enjoyed. My Wife and family of two boys of 17 and 12 are involved and supportive of my interest. The boys are already watching motor racing just like their father and wanting to restore cars.
I have good presentation and analytical skills, with the additional communication skills required to get the point across. I use what ever skills i have gained and am always willing to try new methods or systems to gain and improve my personal development.
