I have been practising as a Barrister for the past eight years.
I have experience of appearing before all levels of tribunal including the Court of Appeal.
I practised at the Common Law Bar for seven years and gained a wealth of experience across the main jurisdictions.
In November 2013, I joined Browne Jacobson LLP as in-house counsel in order to focus on coronial law.
In-house counsel in the Healthcare Advisory and Inquest Team.
I advise on all aspects of healthcare law including coronial investigations, mental health, Court of Protection and medical negligence.
My focus is primarily on representing NHS Trusts at complex and lengthy Article 2 inquests, typically those involving juries.
My responsibilities include advice and representation at inquest, advising on Serious Incident Investigations, reviewing policies to advise on potential liabilities and assisting the Trust to develop, implement and maintain safe systems of work to protect the hospital community.
As a self-employed Barrister I developed a successful Common Law practice across Criminal, Civil and Family jurisdictions. My practice eventually focused on representing inquests and crime.
I worked for the Local Authority at various children's services across the county providing administrative support. I was selected to work as part of a small team responsible for the development of a new children's Home Care service for the entire county.
