I am a driven, hard-working individual who always tries my hardest in everything that I do, which I believe has been shown throughout my successful school life and at the café where I work on Saturdays. During my schooling years I have gained many strong friendships and have developed excellent social skills. For the last year I have mainly been focused on studying for my AS levels at the Royal High School in Bath, as well as making new friends as it is my first year at this sixth form. I am half Spanish so I took my GCSE in year 9, and got an A*. I travel to Spain at least twice a year because half my family lives in Barcelona, which is where my mother comes from. In addition, I believe that travelling is vital for an open mind, and I love to learn about different cultures.
Bilingual Spanish-English – I am currently taking part in the Foreign Language Leadership Award, which involves teaching a single student in her GCSE years more complex Spanish so that she can achieve the best grades possible.

I currently work in a small café called ‘The Grocer on Locksbrook', which is located on a street called Windsor Villas by lower Bristol Road in Bath. I have been working there every Saturday since the end of August this year. My main roles in the café are to take the food and drinks to the tables, do the washing up, work the coffee machine and provide a helping hand in any way possible. Since I have been there I have learnt to take initiative; if I see that the fridge is empty, without needing an order, I re-fill it to make sure that there is never a gap so that it is bursting with colour and is exciting to attract customers. Similarly, I always ensure that the tables are kept clean and that the sauce and sugar pots are always full. During the rush hours of breakfast and lunch time my main role is to wash up, make drinks, take orders and carry food to the tables. I thoroughly enjoy working there as every week I feel as if a gain a new skill; I have been taught how to use the till, how to take an order, how to use the coffee machine and I always take on the role of making the fresh juices! In addition, I feel that my interpersonal skills have been well developed since I have started working here, and I look forward to continuing to expand my experience of working in a café.
At St Andrews, I took on the role as a teaching assistant, mainly in the nursery class. Here, I helped out with the basic tasks of tidying after the children, ensuring that they play safely in the playground, and even teaching the class a song in Spanish. On one of my work experience days, the whole school had a sports day trip in which I assisted in taking the children to the Royal Crescent and being a team leader in the activities.
I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at Stratton House as I feel that I was successful in not only providing a helping hand during meal times by taking food to the tables, but in being someone that the residents could talk to. I loved socialising with the people here and hearing their amazing life stories. Many residents feel quite lonely, which is why I felt that it was important that I was there to visit them and be a presence in their lives.
Knowledge of French.
Good at working independently and as a team.
Willing and able to lead a team if or when required.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
I have many interests which include travelling, socialising, exercising, reading and music. I enjoy visiting different countries as I find learning about other cultures fascinating. The countries I have visited are Spain, France, Italy, USA and Canada, but I am planning to travel all over the world in the future. I visit Spain every summer as my grandparents live in Barcelona, which I love because I enjoy exploring the busy centre of the city. Although I love travelling, I also like to relax and socialise with my friends by going shopping or on bike rides in the summer. However, I am happy to spend time on my own; reading a book, going to the gym or listening to music.
