Time served Multi-Skilled Engineer with 12+ years hands on experience including time leading different functional teams, and 2+ years spent communicating across numerous business functions to implement FMEA and RCM projects throughout Molson Coors Brewing Company.
From the Day to Day running of an Engineering Shift i decided i wanted to go down the Asset Care route and start to improve the Plant we have at Burton. I took the role of Reliability Engineer working in a small team who were responsible for the Improved Reliability of identified plant, via the criticality Matrix, across the whole site of Burton Brewery. During the past 2 years i have ran and been involved in many projects which have dealt with EH&S, Plant Productivity and Plant increased availability. From this i have also been responsible for engaging people from shop floor up to Ops manager level in the systems we use to gain data, the methods we use to implement improvement, and the templates we use to sustain the hard work and effort it takes to getting the plant back to where it needs to be.
I continued to work on shift but also took up the role of relief team leader. This role was not an official position which required a change in contract but i was asked to be responsible for the runnning of the shift and the start and end of shift handovers, this included communicating directly with Production Team Leaders, Tech Support Managers and Departmental Ops managers, attending team meetings and taking the shift team meetings on a weekly basis. This helped improve my leadership skills considerably and also helped my coaching skills when it came to helping people find answers for themselves and feel more empowered.
After completing a 4 year Multi-Skilled apprentiship in Electrical, Electronic & Mechanical Engineering in 2007 i gained a permenant position within MCBC as a Shift Engineer in North Process. During my 6+ years on shift i was responsible for the day to day running of the plant as well as identifying areas for improvement in the way of cost savings and quality/production improvement. My biggest improvement while on shift would have been the energy and production saving around the North Hammer Mill Motors.
In 2006 I was credited with a HNC in Applied Technology, moduals included Electrical Principles, Fluid Dynamics and Business Management.
In 2004 I completed my ONC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
I used to be a keen sportsman playing football, rugby and cricket but a bad car accident in 2007 put a stop to all contact sports for me. However, this hasn't stopped me pursuing my main passion which is pool. I started playing the game when i was around 8 years old, and by the age of 15 i was representing my country on an International scale.
I am now the Captain of the England A Team and have just returned from Bridlington as European Team Champion for the 2nd year running.
I find the management skills i have developed through the company have benefited me enormously in the captaining of my team to success, keeping people happy while getting results.
