I am currently a student studying at Queens University Belfast, who is looking for weekend and holiday work as a sales assistant. I have had past experience working with sales as I have volunteered in two charity shops in my local town. This voluntary work has enabled me to learn basic till skills and also how to talk to and help the customer find what they are looking for. I am a hard-working person and will give 100% to anything which I have to do. I am also an organised and methodical person, but am able to adapt to change if it occurs. During my time at University I obtained a part time job in a coffee shop in Belfast, as a result of this job I have come to learn more about the personality that is required to deal with a customer. Skills that I have which were useful to use when dealing with a costumer were; patients, helpfulness, friendly and trustworthy.
As a sales assistant, I have been able to work with the customers and be able to establish familiarity with some of the regular costomers. As Press 29 is a coffee shop I have also researched different forms of coffee and this has helped me to be able to be able to comprehend how to make many of the coffees that are offered by the shop. During my time at this shop I have put forward different proposals and recommendation's which can be used to make the business run more smoothly, for example I suggested some of the new categories on the till when it was being upgraded which made my job as sales assistant more productive.
Working at this charity shop has helped me to learn the importance of team work and also other skills like till work and customer services. My organising skills were of great use as I was able to help stock and organise both the store room and restock the store itself.
During my time at working with Charis I learned many skills in customer services and also how to organise and restock the shop.
My interests include sports like Bowls and Badminton. During my time in Bowls I have won different competitions, which have been both local and district awards. I participate in Badminton in a local club. Other interests which I have are circulated around my Church, as I am a youth leader in my Church and also have other positions within the Church organisation. In my spare time I also enjoy walking and Drama. Most of these interests are team orientated and this helps me to gain communication and team work skills, which are very important in the world of business.
respect for peers and customers
