I am 18 years old, and i am currently studying Level 3 electrical installations at South Devon College, and I am working towards my goal of becoming a professional electrician in the years to come. I am thoroughly enjoying my course and i am working at a reasonable pace as been told by my lecturers. I am keen to learn new skills within the trade and i am hoping to be working with an electrician who is willing to take me on, my goals are to make sure i have excellent timekeeping and to go over newly learned skills, and also to pay close attention to detail, which is essential in electrics, and work hard to achieve my goals. I am also hoping to get used to basic skills and knowledge as well as the more advanced aspects of electrics, and i like working as a team to achieve certain tasks but i also like to work alone too, i find myself to be more of a practical learner, so i think i would learn a lot more on the job.
My responsibilities as a labourer on-site would be to make sure that the site is as clean and workable as it can be so this would involve going around site, clearing rubble, blocks, sand, dirt, wood etc. from areas where other would need to work, i would also help out with some other jobs onsite such as putting felt, battens and slating/tiling onto roofs, plasterboarding, studwalls, installing insulation, and i have helped out with block/brickwork and also i have done concreting as well, i have also done alot of dirty work such as digging trenches and pipes and digging holes for fences etc as i am currently studying level 3 electrics at south devon college, have helped the electrician with some first fixing such as chasing out walls for cable routes and pattresses and preparing them for second fixing and also i have done some 2nd fixings onsite such as installing sockets and switches and putting in lights and storage heaters, but that was with a different person.
My responsibilities were to make sure that every dish was cleaned in the kitchen, and i also had to make sure that glasses were clean aswell and i was to pack them away into specified places and i also had to help clean up at the end of the night.
