I have a large and varied skill set, ranging from first aid to delivering goods. I am very target focused and pried myself in time management. I have spent most of my working career in customer facing roles. I am not shy of getting stuck in and doing whatever is asked of me. I work well in a team but also show initiative when working on my own.
At Menzies i was working nights packing and delivering newspapers and magazines. This was a very time focused job with a fast turn around. On a typical night i would turn up at 11pm to pack any magazines, then papers would start turning up from print at 2am, they would have to be individually counted and packed depending on how many each shop was having. After this i would load my van up for my shops at 5 am ready to leave the depo for 5:30. All of the packages needed to be delivered before the shops opened.I would return back to depo at around 8am ready to do any claims from shops that are missing any papers.
I enjoyed my job very much but due to relocating to devon i had to leave and sadly the local depo did not vacancies for transfer.
I started at the blue bus volunteering my saturday nights to help care for any bewildered clubbers who had enjoyed their time a little to much. I started as a non first aider filling in paperwork and progressed my way up to bus manager. As manager i would not only have to work alongside my fellow volunteers administering First aid and advice but i would also have to work out logistics with teams and when we required back up from ambulances or the police. I was also in control of the night net radio for the bus that kept us connected to the multiple clubs, bars, cctv control room and town police. Again this is something that i have had to sadly give up due to moving and i will miss it.
As a dog groomer i worked within salons on a rent a table set up, i would have my own clients come to me. customer service was paramount. It was a labour intensive job requiring strength and patience due to the size of some dogs that had to be lifted in and out of the baths and on to tables. Some dogs also do not like being groomed or are very nervous so being patient with them was key. Sadly i had to stop doing this due to loss of work with many new competitors opening up in the surrounding area.
With Graham i would do anything from painting to putting up fences and laying pathways. Mainly working at a children's farm that was derelict when we first arrived, to a farm and riding center ready to open to the pubic. I would be working inside and out in all weathers including putting fences up in the snow one year. Due to the farm being completed and with graham scaling down on work due to age i was forced to find another job.
