Accomplishments
  • In 2007 I undertook a dramatic career change and have not looked back since.
  • In order to progress within the social care industry I understand that it takes a good work ethic not only at work but academically as well.
  • For this reason I have completed my NVQ2 in Health and Social Care and am looking forward to the new challenges in completing not just my NVQ3, but hopefully an NVQ4 in Health and Social Care.
Experience
January 2012 to Current
  • I went over voluntarily to another service Harkstead barns Ipswich due to breaking my Ankle it was to difficult temporaily to push heavey wheelchairs i liked the new challenge working with 5 adult men with challenging behavious and Autism and bi polar i settled in well the positon came with high levels of responsibility Lone working at night with a sleep in In April 2013 a new company took over the service Affinity Trust i was taken over on a tube transfer.They didnt want any seniors at the service just there own managers and team leaders due to the nature of the service.so we kept our senior pay and same responsbilities just didnt have the paperwork anymore managers and team leaders took that over to give the staff more time with pws.
  • I am still present in my job role i have been at harkstead barns since june 2012.I have enjoyed the new challenges and gained more experience in my role.
  • I worked towards my level 3 but with the tube transfer i sadly didnt get to sit my level 3 diploma this is something i would like to do in the future.when funding allows.

  • My current role requires high levels of responsibility.
  • The main task in this role is to ensure all individuals' needs are met as well as all health care issues and personal care are addressed in the most efficient and responsive manner.
  • I have experienced many difficult situations within this position and have managed to overcome all of them.
  • This role has given me an increase in confidence, encouraged me to use my own initiative and build relationships.
  • Additionally I have become more successful at being able to dissolve potentially difficult situations, something that will continue to improve with more experience.I worked hard and became a Senior Support worker june 1st 2011 and am currently working towards my NVQ3 diploma awaiting funding.

  • The Main responsibilities I partook include: Taking payments for hospital TV and radio from patients, Respecting confidentiality due to working alongside doctors, nurses and their patients, Trained as technician so I could do repairs and order parts, Trained on computer systems within the hospital.
  • I worked on all wards and dealt with all patients, some of which were in very difficult situations.
  • Working in this environment often meant I would spend a lot of time dealing with sick or disabled individuals.
  • I found this role very rewarding, and decided to leave to pursue a career in health and social care.
January 1993 to January 2006Sainsbury's
  • My career with Sainsbury's started within the cafe, and I soon moved to the bakery.
  • Soon I became trained on the checkouts and was able to work on the kiosk.
  • However the majority of my time was spent working in the customer service department.
  • I dealt with all scenarios that could be imagined from dealing with refunds, generic complains, price control, faulty equipment, etc.
  • Working in this role I often dealt with lots of money transfers and refunds.
  • This role taught built my self-confidence to a high level and a increased my patience levels.
  • Due to my high levels of success in this role and the continuing praise received from both customers and colleagues I often had the opportunity to progress to senior roles, however for personal reasons I did not pursue these.
