I consider myself a reliable, hard working and a self-motivated Senior Account Handler. Over my 18 year career within the insurance broking industry, I have acquired and demonstrated a strong understanding of technical broking and trading of commercial insurances. I look to progress my career in the same professional manner to continue a high standard of work. I place a great emphasis on managing clients and providing exceptional customer service as well meeting company targets.
During my time at Aston Scott Ltd I have been fortunate enough to have experienced a number of roles within the company. Each role has had a different challenge which has provided me with invaluable experience from both technical and managerial positions.
Initially I was employed as an Account Handler dealing with all classes of commercial insurance for corporate clients in excess of £25K gross written premium. From this I was promoted to Senior Account Handler having achieved a number of internal objectives set, demonstrating an increased technical ability including the completion of professional exams.
In 2010 I was promoted to Assistant Manager within the Corporate Business Division, duties involving credit control and keeping up to date in respect of FSA (now FCA) procedures and becoming the principal focal point within the team. After 24 months I was promoted to Manager of the Commercial Business Division whilst retaining the responsibility of my large portfolio of clients. My managerial duties involved management of team workloads, monitoring of targets and responsibility of staff performance reviews.
Whilst working as the manager of the Commercial Business Division I was presented with the opportunity to work closely alongside the Chief Executive as his Executive Assistant. I gained invaluable experience and insight into the operation of the business. I attended various high profile insurer meetings and was heavily involved in the negotiation of a major acquisition.
Later I returned to control, manage and co-ordinate a motor trade schemes division across all of the Aston Scott offices, the role remained varied, again still managing a portfolio of clients but also involving credit control, renewals and training. However, I wanted to return to managing Corporate clients, so in 2013 I decided to return to Senior Account Handling within the Corporate Business Division.
My current position involves retaining a large portfolio of clients ranging from £25K to £250K gross written premium, including motor trade, construction, IT and the leisure industry. I am responsible for day to day running of the accounts, renewals, re-broking, claims management, cross-selling and identifying risk management opportunities.
Client Advisor responsible for approximately fifteen clients with duties involving the collating of renewal data, presenting renewal information to insurer and negotiating renewal terms.
Motor Fleet Account Handler responsible for communicating with clients on a daily basis, issuing cover notes, calculating quarterly declaration adjustments, negotiating renewal terms with insurers and re-marketing the risk if required.
Initially my duties involved issuing green cards, cover notes and Maidstone general office administration and working as part of a small team on a support unit for the office. Within a year, I was promoted to Motor Fleet Underwriter.
