Currently working as a client-focused Funeral Planner. I pride myself on being a self motivated, adaptable employee who works very well on my own, or in a team.
In May I left Alliance Funeral Care and started at Infinity. This is a new company where my role was again to liaise with families, deal with Bereavement Services and oversee the whole funeral. As a relatively new company, Infinity's workload doesn't provide me the challenge that I require at this stage of my life. Again I have a great love for the job and get on with all the staff whilst taking great pride in carrying out my duties.
It was the beginning of this year that I got the chance to work as a Trainee Funeral Director and I jumped at it. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and I was planning and conducting funerals, from the initial meeting the family to returning ashes after the funeral. I carried my work ethic through into this job role and nothing short of perfect would do for me. Again I had to work in a team as well as running the Pontefract branch alone. I was responsible for every aspect of the funeral, including liaising with Bereavement Services, completing and checking paperwork with families and advising them throughout. I fell in love with this job role. Getting along with families and understanding their needs comes naturally.
It was whilst working at Yorkshire Windows that I completed the first NVQ that I had started in my previous job. I moved from The Window Centre when the chance came around to work with my Dad, who was already at Yorkshire Windows. My time within the company saw me complete two NVQs in Installation, as well as being recognised for Health and Safety. Both my Dad and I have the same work ethic and we did long hours and were meticulous with our standards. We were recognised by our manager, the MD and the owner of this multi-million pound business, as being the best in our field and were often requested by name by the customer.
I was initially set on at The Window Centre as a college leaver, my first full time job. My aim, to become a fully competent Installer. I quickly progressed and enjoyed working within the team. My duties involved removal and installation of windows, doors and conservatories. It was also part of my responsibilities to take care of paperwork for jobs, update the computer files and to survey jobs.
Being a very proud family man, my number one hobby would have to be my two daughters. When I'm away from the work place, I love taking them out. As a family we enjoy spending time outside and taking our dog for a walk. I enjoy socialising with my friends and family and spending time at home on an evening watching a film. I also like to keep track on my sports team, Liverpool and watching them on TV.
