Summary
I am a recent graduate aspiring for a job role as an Event Planner with the view to become an Event Manager for large scale leisure events. I have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and exceeding customer's expectations. With my experience in the operational side to hospitality, I believe this provides an advantage when planning events and enhances success on the day. My excellent communication and people skills enable me to connect with clients gaining their trust and ensuring to provide the best possible outcome for their special day. Alongside three other team members, I organised an educational dining experience based around the recent trend of Gin. The evening included a three-course meal incorporating the botanicals of gin, a gin tasting sponsored by The Oxford Artisan Distillery, FeverTree and BTW Tonic and arrival drink for 62 covers.
Between us we took responsibility of marketing, finances, restaurant operations and food and beverage menu design and production. I was directly manager for the kitchen department as Head chef. I developed the menu, trained my team of 12 amateur chefs and managing my team on the evening. The success of this event was identified through a staff and guest questionnaire averaging 97% satisfaction overall, and through a gross profit of 56.9% on beverages and 66.8% on food costs.

I am currently working a combination of two roles as a Front of House Assistant and Events Assistant in this newly built, multi award winning Boutique Hotel. It is made up of 10 bedrooms, a 42 seat restaurant, 14 seat bar area, two private dining spaces (30 seat combined) and an outdoor space capable to hold 300 people. My responsibilities include managing events, functions and conferences on the day, ensuring all that is planned happens smoothly, managing staff and keeping guests satisfied. Further responsibilities include providing onsite training, guiding and monitoring staff to improve performance of both individual and financially for the business.

I spent just over a year in this Four Star Hotel, rotating between Reception, Food and Beverage; and Events, Marketing and Reservation departments. I was given an insight into weekly management meetings which increased my knowledge of the business strategies used to operate hotels, increase repeat custom and provide financial gain. In the events role, I assisted in the organisation and production of over 15 weddings, solely organised wine tastings and 2 weeks worth of Christmas parties to name a few.
Within the Food and Beverage department I increased my knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits and coffee art. Latterly I took responsibility for managing the staff and ensuring the bar department ran smoothly at all times. On of my greatest achievements in this department was advising new ways of creating positive guest experiences through recommending different approaches to the operation of daily tasks.
