I am a confident and experienced young person looking for a part-time job (either weekends or evenings or both). I am currently in my first year of sixth form ate Whitley Bay High School) studying History, English Literature and Economics. I am easy to work with and dependable. Along with my great communication skills I am very friendly and helpful. I am very active and motivated; I never leave a job unfinished. I am very resourceful and am able to work on my own or with others confidently. I can adapt easily to changing situations and I am able to manage my time effectively by knowing how to prioritise tasks.
My skills include use of sales tills and computers i.e. I can word-process, use databases and spreadsheets and use the Internet. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills. I have French speaking and writing skills and I work effectively as a leader. I can accurately use a sewing machine.
Regularly work at function evenings by collecting glasses and serving drinks. I have also volunteered in the small sports shop within the club where I helped to sell squash racquets to customers, organise stock lists and process orders.
I worked at this seaside café/bistro for 7 months. I was employed as a waitress, taking food orders, serving food, cleaning tables, making teas and coffees, suing the tills and washing dishes. Here I learnt how to efficiently and politely deal with customers and developed good customer care and communication skills. I also learnt how to organise food checks and worked in a high volume, high pressure, strong customer service environment.
I had a week of work experience at a high-end, fashion retail store in the centre of Newcastle called Leaf. Here I learnt how to translate UK clothing sizes into international sizes, how to set up window displays, how to speak to customers, how to sell, how to use a till and how to neatly present clothes.
I have used this cafe most of my life and know the owners well. I asked them if I could have some work experience. I spent 4 months waitressing, serving food, serving ice creams, collecting dishes, cleaning tables and washing dishes.

I like to design and make my own clothes, as I am very inspired by textiles and fashion magazines. My other hobbies include baking and decorating cakes, reading books, magazines and blogs, photography and I also sing in a band. I taught myself how to play the guitar and enjoy playing songs often. I love to keep fit and I play squash to a good standard. For example I play for the Tynemouth Squash Club Ladies team and for the Northumbria Girls Under 17 County team and I have played in local and regional squash tournaments.
