I currently Work for Dale Care Ltd, i returned over a year ago after having a career change, but previously worked for them for 11 years.
I consider myself to be a responsible, caring and highly motivated and experienced carer. I have good communication skills and can laise comfortably with all professionals connected to my service users, ie doctors, social services district nurses etc .
My responsibilities are basically doing everything to keep service users at home ie, assisting out of bed, washing, dressing, assisting with hearing aids,surgical stockings, ad meds, preparing and serving meals.
I regularly use hoists, rota stands, bath chairs, stair lifts, wheel chairs and my service users have a wide range of disabilities, i also do house work, laundry, shopping, escort,and night sits.
My role as a leader was to give members advice on how to lose weight healthily and responsibly, give a confidential weigh in and offered advice at the scales and later on in a class setting.
my duties as an employee was to set out the room with the focus being on confidentiality at the scales, the sales tables had to be set out attractively and always had the offers in full view, there was lots of admin involved both in and out of class, stock checks had to be done tally sheets had to be filled in, letters had to be wrote to both new and disappointed members, attended leaders meeting every month and had to put class ideas together.
In 2011 i won an achievement award for retention and was 3rd in the region for keeping my members.
My daily responsibilities were to, assist out of bed, wash and dress, assist to prepare and serve breakfast, administer meds, eye drops etc, frequently used hoists, slide sheets, belts etc, personal care including shower, using bath aids, applying creams to pressure area and also keeping an eye on any pressure sores and report any worries to the district nurses. i regularly worked with the blind, alzimers, deaf, disabled and chronic breathing problems, i tended to do more palliative care towards the end of my career which i enjoyed very much and found extremely rewarding.

I spend most of my spare time catching up with friends and family, i also have a springer spaniel who needs a lot of exercise
