As well as my academic experience, I was much honoured to get an internship at the Bengbu City Bureau of Statistics in Anhui province from January to March, 2013. I was responsible for collating statistical data, including GDP, Input and Output. I realized that real statistical work requires not only a solid academic background, but also the ability to observe and compare data in order to obtain the most accurate and effective results.
Main modules: Advanced Bayesian Inference, Statistical Modelling, Advanced Data Analysis, Applied Multivariate Analysis and Knowledge Discovery and Datamining
1. An essay of Advanced Bayesian Inference: Research about Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Approximate Bayesian Computation
3. Project report of Computing in Statistics: This project is aimed at producing maximum likelihood estimates of parameters associated with statistical distributions.
4. Project report of Statistical Modelling: Multiple linear regression model of the EIA data
5. Group Project of Data Mining: This project mainly focus on building a customer selection tool to predict a customer's behaviour. Four different methods (logistic regression, gradient boosting, random forests and neural networks) were applied in predicting. Remarkably, original dataset is more than 20 GB.
Main Modules: Finance, Statistics, Data Mining Technology, Micro-economics, Macro-economics, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Econometric Modelling, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics
Academic experience: I chose Statistics as my major at Tianjin University of Finance & Economics (TUFE) in 2009. Having received excellent results in the National Entrance Examination, I was assigned into one of the two experimental classes when I first entered into the university. After two years' study on basic courses, I began to study major courses about statistics systematically. The university's college of science and technology, to which the statistics department belongs, emphasizes training students in fundamental skills, particularly in the area of mathematics, economics, English and computer science. My average grade was 85 (out of 100), ranking me in the top 10 across the whole department. In 2011, I attended the research project held by Professor Bai Zhonglin. The project explored the Modelling Method and the Application of Pseudo Panel Data. In 2013, my graduation paper was recognized as the Outstanding Thesis (first place) on our course.
I am a good basketball player and have got the certificate of Nation Rank 2 Athlete in China. In addition, I also like painting, swimming and cooking.
